Fire, Air and Water

This is a collage painting. Several pieces of regular, present tissue paper was applied with water and acrylic paints (Golden Open). This was painting was originally part of an idea of Cold Planet a picture from a website. Half of the terrain in Cold Planet was made of rocks and mountains, so I used the sand... for the texture and make the terrain look rough and uneven. Several times in trying to do the planet itself dissatisfied the whole concept of the Cold Planet. Didn't like the ice-cream colors I used for the planet, so therefore I went over it with plain house paint. From there the idea that Earth Day was almost coming I thought about Earth and its main components (Fire, Air and Water). Since half of the canvas was plastered with the sand... I decided to plaster the other half of the canvas with the sand... and then wait a least 24hrs to let it dry. After 24hrs, prior to Earth Day, I decided to recycle color tissue paper instead of throwing it away, because there was not a birthday coming up in April. Acrylic paint (Golden Open) such as C.P Cadmium Red, Hansa Yellow Medium, Ultramarine Blue and Indian Yellow Hue were mixed in with separate water cup and then applied to the color tissue paper. I let it bleed through enough so that the acrylic colors would settle at the bottom of the color tissue paper. Once the acrylic paints a re settle enough I just removed some of the tissue out and kept some. Along the process I realized I did use some materials mentioned on the title such as water and air.

Surgical Scowl Medical Ethics

This is another form of collage. This collage was done for medical ethics; humans performing surgical experiments on other humans. The collage was done on a piece of board... tissue paper was used to replace regular blank paper for the printable machine and used to print the digital picture designed on an iPad. I varnished the digital printout so that when it is placed on to the board the ink doesn't smear or something. Then a liquid medium gloss is poured onto to board, then brushed and finally the digital printout can be plastered down and add more of the medium is brushed on top of the digital picture. Originally the scowl's eyes were dark holes, I gave the scowl's eyes a more feminine look and words surrounding the eyes. Making tape was later used to cover some parts that I didn't want the digital picture to be "ruined" if acrylic paints are to be used. Instead of using acrylic paints, I used a red acrylic spray paint on the areas where masking tape was used. Carefully I took out the masking tape and sort of starting to smear of the sides with my finger. Later I applied more words associated with humans preforming surgical tasks on other humans.

Spring butterfly

This is an abstract painting inspired by the spring time. The winter season went out of date and spring time bloomed in. This painting takes place outside in a field with lots of grasses and lots of weeds that need to be pulled out. Grasses that are tall as me and every creature are coming out and ready to play. Some of the objects that are included in this painting is the red sneakers incorporated onto the butterfly's legs and the butterfly is literally ready to play. The colors imported into this painting were acrylic paints (Golden Open) such as Hansa Yellow Medium, C.P. Cadmium Red Dark, Ultramarine Blue, Carbon Black, and Titanium White. I enjoy this painting, because its seems playful to me and it was while working on it.
